In 2021, the Jacksonville Climate Action Team, which is supported by SOCAN, took stock of their issues, including
- exploring new technology
- understanding Oregon’s laws and regulations
- water conservation
- electrification of the beloved Trolly tour
- becoming more firewise
After investigating and concluding that electrification of the Trolly had too many constraints to progress at this time, they focused on supporting neighborhoods to be firewise and connected to their neighbors in case of emergency.
They began 2023 with a presentation by Ray Sanchez-Pescador, President of Solarize Rogue – on Community Solar, and the support available to participate.
