Grants Pass

In 2021, city council authorized an Sustainability & Energy Action Task Force (SEAT) to be formed. And then it authorized an inventory of the city’s carbon footprint to be conducted.

The Taskforce will look for opportunities to improve City operations, manage energy consumption and promote education within the community. Since then, the City decided to create a permanent standing committee to advise City Council on potential actions relating to climate change, sustainability, resiliency, enhanced sequestration, tree canopy development and reduction of GHGs.

There are community groups that are supporting efforts such as Josephine Climate Alliance and Sustainable Rogue Valley
